stillness is valuable.

Movement is patterned on heaven, stillness is patterned on earth, when body and mind are both calm, heaven and earth join.

Bert de WAART sensei (1940 - 2015) Taikiken, Kyokushin, Aikido

During his long Budo career, he studied and trained with the best Japanese, Chinese and European masters.

Bert Sensei was an experienced instructor with over 30 years of experience in martial arts such as Kyokushin Karate, Taikiken, Aikido and Yiquan. He let us see and feel what the essence of martial arts was, bringing hard and soft together.

Bert taught until he was 71 and always did so with incredible skill, flexibility and a good dose of humour.

You can also view many YouTube videos via Google by typing in the search query 'Bert taikiken' with experiences of participants in, among other things, his 55+ YiQuan / boxing lessons.

Bert was 7 years connected to the university of Utrecht., where he gave (kick-) box lessons on the principals of Taikiken.

Bert sensei is missed by his fellow martial art instructors, students and friends.
