The newborn state, what is it like?

The primordial and the temporal

are one energy.

No discrimination, no knowledge, not a single stain. The seed of Buddha and immortals,

the lair of sages.

Roderik Schuwer – Master Martial Artist, Taikiken Specialist, and Philosophical Practitioner (Jungian Analyst)

Roderik Schuwer is a distinguished martial artist and philosophical practitioner with a multifaceted career spanning over four decades. His journey in martial arts began with Kyokushin Karate, where he honed his discipline, strength, and resilience. Seeking deeper exploration of martial techniques and inner balance, Roderik transitioned to Taikiken, a modern martial art focusing on natural movement and harmony.

Under the mentorship of renowned Taikiken masters Ron Nansink and Nadja Kotrchova, Roderik immersed himself in intensive training programs in Amsterdam. For two decades, he participated diligently in their training sessions, developing a profound understanding of Taikiken's principles and applications. His commitment extended beyond Amsterdam, actively engaging in numerous Taikiken Natural Tuning workshops across Czechia. These experiences allowed him to refine his skills, collaborate with fellow martial artists, and contribute to the evolution of Taikiken practices. Roderik's extensive experience and unwavering passion have made him a respected figure in the martial arts community, inspiring both novices and seasoned practitioners alike.

Parallel to his martial arts endeavors, Roderik pursued an academic and professional career in the business and financial sectors following his law studies in 1980. Despite achieving success in the corporate world, he felt a persistent drive to explore the interpersonal dynamics of business. Roderik's fascination with understanding what motivates people, why they behave the way they do, and the underlying factors of human interactions led him to seek a deeper philosophical understanding.

In the quest to bridge his business experience with his interest in human behavior, Roderik decided to undertake training as a philosophical practitioner. His extensive background in the corporate sector provided valuable insights, reinforcing his belief that, regardless of the field, human interaction remains at the core of all endeavours. Roderik emphasises the importance of addressing individual questions and needs, avoiding generic advice in favor of personalised guidance.

Beyond his professional and martial pursuits, Roderik is a proud father of two children, which adds another layer of depth to his understanding of interpersonal relationships and personal growth. He believes in the power of language to convey complex ideas but prioritizes meaningful, tailored conversations over theoretical discussions.

Roderik recently completed the 3-year training as a Jungian Analyst at the Jung Academy in Amsterdam.

Roderik Schuwer continues to share his diverse expertise through teaching, seminars, and demonstrations, fostering a deeper appreciation for both martial arts and philosophical practices. His dedication to lifelong learning and holistic excellence exemplifies his role as a leading practitioner and ambassador in his respective fields.
